This datatype allows you to view CEPT-3 format frames and carousels (commonly known as videotex, teletext, viewdata or prestel frames) It only supports full frames (960 byte file of 40x24 characters) and carousels of full frames. You can create carousels by joining single frames together with the JOIN command. Carousels MUST have the extension ".car" to be detected by the datatype. Frames MUST have the extension ".bin". As of v1.5, EP1 and EPX format files are also supported. These are detected on the file header so can have any extension. As of v1.6, Viewdata frames are properly supported, can be any length but MUST have the extension ".cpt". Carousels are split at the CS byte (0x0C). It requires the MtA font (included). This is a modified version of the MtA font from the PstView archive, where I have changed the font to the UK character set. If you need the accented characters, you might want to use the original instead. Known bugs and limitations Conceal, flash and steady are not supported. These codes will be ignored (concealed text will be printed as if it had been revealed) There are two descriptors as Datatypes picks some files up as binary and others as ASCII, so you need a descriptor for each type. Which is ASCII and which is binary is arbitrary and the author can't remember five minutes after recreating them. The CPT and CPT-ASCII types are separate for boring reasons, if you have a conflict with another datatype which expects files to have the .cpt extension you can remove them. Most of the icons are by Ken "Ken's Icons" Lester. As usual, I can and will not accept responsibility for any damage, loss of data etc incurred through use of this software. This archive is provided "as-is" without warranty of any kind and all use is at your own risk. Please check the PGP signature in the Aminet readme against the archive to ensure it has not been tampered with. v1.6 (28/06/2020) * Tenth anniversary edition :) * Added full working support for Viewdata frames. Frames included with PstView now view correctly if the files are renamed to ".pst". v1.5 (06/03/2010) * Added support for EP1 and EPX format files. v1.4 * ??? (not released) v1.3a (12/01/2008) * Descriptor changed - now files must end in .BIN or .CAR to be recognised v1.3 (10/04/2007) * Fixed a potential unreferenced memory access which particulary showed up when running Eastern * Fixed a potential buffer over-run * Previous release didn't close the double-height font v1.2 (26/03/2007) * Oops, forgot to close diskfont.library * Fixed the double-height issue * Depth is now reported correctly in Multiview * Carousels are now supported * Capital letters in graphics mode now show up correctly * Modified the double-height font to the correct UK character set v1.1 (25/03/2007) * First release |
