Unfortunately, on my X5000 using the NGFS file system for the System boot partition, it seems it would state that it would need the flicanim.hwp plugin to work, despite the flic.hwp itself is already installed into the system. I suspect because of using the NGFS file system, which unfortunately is needed to boot X5000 into the OS, the file format is not compatible as SFS2 would be, so it's possible VAMP gets confused because of this. All other players work, and I got latest Hollywood Player.
You could merge VAMP into Hollywood Player, if not already, or make sure that VAMP will work better with NGFS file format. It works on SAM460ex because using SFS2 for boot partition.

Hi HKvalhe,
the VAMP.hwa file is to use directly with the Hollywood Player, now you can use the VAMP player from the executable or with the Hollywood Player.

Just noticed a new icon called VAMP.hwa. Is this just an icon, or should it be installed into LIBS/Hollywood?

Still don't use the [replace file] link when uploading a new version?

Why?

Why do I need the extra work that that gives me?

Comment by: orginAt: 18 Feb 2013, 14:07File version: 0.92B
You can no longer enter the replaces field manually. Which is why uploaders must use the replace file method.

Besides using replace file is probably faster than uploading a completely new file since you don't have to reenter all the fields every time.

So basically you spent more time on your upload than you needed to plus giving the admins more to do in the process ;)

@CoderJack

When you upload a file to replace an already existing file, as you did this time, then you should use the replace file method when uploading your file.

Not doing that gives an admin extra work that you should have been doing in the first place.

Open the readme page of your file. Under the header part you can see a set of grey buttons with black text. One of them says "Replace file". The next time you want to upload a new version click this button instead of using the new file upload procedure.

Since you obviously didn't understand this from the recently remade submit page, please suggest what I can do to make it even more obvious that it already is without having to explain it to each uploader individually.

AmigaOS itself has no problem accepting line parameters for command files or programs. The question is, does Hollywood provide a way to allow a Hollywood compiled program to parse the input line and use parameters if they are provided?
VAMP would be totally awesome if it could be used as the default player type for deficons for Moviesetter movie files, but for that to work, VAMP has to understand and use input parameters.

With AVCodec1.1 for Hollywood V.A.M.P. plays videos with the format flv and mp4 only limit for the window size and CPU speed, more speed more big the screen in the video.

Well scabit I don't know if Amiga OS4 works as Windows in this question.

Yes, you are right - VAMP was giving me an audio error because I had the SPEAK device mounted for my narrator.
Now, one request - is there any way to make VAMP receive a parameter - specifically the filepath/name of a file to play. That way I can add it to my Deficons as a MovieSetter type and play mivoesetter movies with VAMP just by double clicking!

SCabit the problem is when you have open other player for example DvPlayer or AmigaAmp, V.A.M.P. uses only a way with the AHI because Hollywood uses it and understand that the AHI's way already is taken for other program as I say DvPlayer, AmigaAmp.

Hi,

Just tried to use the VAMP program to play some mpeg and movie setter files. I've loaded the hollywood plugins for moviesetter, etc.
When I open a movieetter file, I see the first frame. Then when I try to play I get the error:

"General AHI error! check your AHI installation and settings! File VAMP:.hws (current line: 141 in function:PlayVideo)"

I have a micro A1-c, and my audio works fine - such as Amiga AMP, DV player etc.

Any idea what might be wrong?

Thanks!

Nice work - i have all the anims from eric and now i can watch them again on my amigaone500. Would be nice if you can provide by the next update AmigaOS4 conform icons. There was the standart tool icon and your info file extra - so i have to fix this up to have a better look.
As you i develop software with Hollywood. In my last big project alaska i have implemented also the new version of the videoplayer functions. So would be great to see more like fast forward etc. and great gui. Last comment: i have startet 2 weeks ago the same idea as you - so i cancel this at the moment and i will work on project Taran in the adventureland - a point and click adventure - and USA Nationalparks - a multimedia travel guide. So long.

Cool, just a bit slow on my Flex 800 expecially with some big divx files but pretty usable in general, with some more speed and a better GUI this program might be a daily and pretty nice video player !
