# Dungeon Keeper for Amiga systems

This package is an Amiga port of KeeperFX, based on KeeperFX 1.4.0.0,
the latest stable KeeperFX release. It supports Dungeon Keeper and
Dungeon Keeper 2. Dungeon Keeper Gold is recommended.

The archive contains executables for:

* AmigaOS 3.x (68k)
* AmigaOS 4
* WarpOS
* AROS

Please note that the AROS executable is currently based on an older
KeeperFX alpha version between 1.3.2 and 1.4.0.0. The other versions
are based on KeeperFX 1.4.0.0.

## Installation

An AmigaOS installer is included. The required game data can therefore
be installed directly on AmigaOS from your original Dungeon Keeper
media; no prior installation on a PC is necessary.

The original commercial game data is not included in this archive.
Dungeon Keeper Gold is recommended as the source for the game data.

## Performance and hardware requirements

The Amiga versions contain numerous performance optimizations. For
comfortable play, one of the following systems is currently required:

* an AmigaOS 4 machine
* a PCI-equipped PowerPC Amiga running WarpOS (450 MHz G4 or 800 MHz G3)
* a PiStorm using a Raspberry Pi 4, CM4 or Pi 4B

On these systems the game runs very fast. Depending on personal
preference and the chosen settings, performance on a PiStorm with a
Raspberry Pi 3 may also be acceptable.

At present, standard Vampire systems are not fast enough for comfortable
play. A further performance patch intended to make the game playable on
Vampire hardware may be released in the future, but this is not
guaranteed.

## About KeeperFX

KeeperFX is an open-source continuation and recreation of Bullfrog's
Dungeon Keeper engine. It includes many fixes, improvements and additional
features while retaining the gameplay of the original game.
