--What is it: Language driver to give ability have whole system in English, but be able to type and see in Cyrilic languages (such as Russian, Bolgarian, Serbski and co). ---What the problem ? Why it need it ? Default set of language drivers in AmigaOS4.1.x expect that when you choice any language driver in prefs:locale, then: -- All system messages use locale of language you choice. -- Set global codepage, to give you ability to type with refering to keymap you choice in prefs:input. Some time, some of us want to type/see our native language, but do not want to translate whole system to it. I.e. some time we want to have whole system non-localized , but be able to type/see russian, bolgarian, serbsky, etc which use cp-1251 code page. While it can be fixed in the prefs:locale by adding "Only set codepage, no system translate ON/OFF" entry, we currently just make a language driver which is pure copy of English driver, just with codepage set to Amiga-1251, which give us ability to have whole system in English, but be able to type/see in Amiga1251. --- How to use: 1. Put english_Amiga-1251.language from binary directory to your LOCALE:Languages/ directory 2. reboot 3. in prefs:locale clear all preffered languages and choice: English (cyrilic) (that our new one). 4. save, reboot Now your system still in english, and you able to type and see in cyrilic language of your choice from prefs:input (russian, bolgarian, serbski, etc) |
