This usually occurs when AmiDock is not in autosave mode. In this case, you have to manually save preferences before importing. I haven't found a solution for this yet.

Here it comes up with a a warning requester saying "unable to import subdock. File may be damaged." followed by an empty error requester and the subdock is removed from the dock.

Like fonts and colors, min and max sizes are defined on a per-smartsubdock basis, so you'll have to set them for the parent dock too. If you want the same settings for all your "menu of docks", the best is to set them for the root dock first, because new subdocks will inherit those settings.

ok thanks.
that works for the icons inside the subdock. but the icon of the subdock *itself* cannot be resized. and that one is looking strange now.
i defined a min/maxsize for my dockicons.

thanks and regards

This feature was supposed to stay as a "hidden option", but I forgot to remove some default values.
Here's what you need to do to get rid of those symbols:

1) Open ENVARC:smartbutton-docky-global.xml with PrefsObjectsEditor (in Utilities).
(you may have to save subdocks preferences first to create this file)

2) Create the 2 following keys (of 'String' type), leaving their value empty:

- SubdockVisibleSymbol
- SubdockHiddenSymbol

@MichaelMerkel
Sure, but dockies do not have (clean) access to those AmiDock parameters, hence the separate settings.

Thank you!
Maybe was the late hour...but I cant found a way to deactivate the "+" and "-" icons in the buttons that opena subdock...
In previous version they dont was ehere and I prefer that behaviour to the new...

For now, the rendering with compositing activated uses several workarounds which are not totally satisfying (especially with text fields, the smooth borders are ugly), but I'm still hoping to get the answers I'm waiting for regarding new OS4 functions.

It is the compositing limitation (I looked at the whole readme this time). The rendering is correct when compositing is turned off.

The title text will be optional in future versions.
By "grey background", did you mean the dock dragbar or something else ?

Would it be possible to add these features:
- Turn off title text next to the icon.
- Remove the grey background
