Short: V1.1 DiskDataBase - A GUI for entering compact disc information into a
DataBase.
Uploader: jimbot()frontiernet.net (The Author)
Author: jimbot()frontiernet.net (James T. Steichen)
Type: disk/cdrom
Version: V1.1
A GUI for entering compact disc information into a DataBase. Yes, it does
not
use
MUI, reAction or BOOPSI, but given how many problems FreeDB has & that it
does
use
MUI, I felt that the convenience of have a re-sizable GUI is just not worth
the
hassle of figuring out where the problems with MUI are located (just use the
Zoom
Gadget instead).
The main reason for this program is that the FreeDB program that comes with
AmigaOS4 has
a lot of bugs in it. After the last time it locked up my AmigaOne, I decided
to just
create a program that would read my CDs & allow me to enter the Track titles
&
other
info by hand, then save it to the FreeDB:discs/ directories.
NOTE: DiskDataBase does not necessarily produce entries that the freedb.org
website
will accept. The output does closely follow the directives that
freedb.org
requests & names the output files in lowercase hexadecimal numbers
(which FreeDB
does NOT!).
